GOO is developed te enable joint subject indexing by the scientific libraries as a part of the shared automated cataloguingsystem (GGC) of Pica.
The participating libraries are using the Dutch Basic Classification Scheme and a detailed thesaurus. Procedures are described in a manual (only in Dutch). Some libraries are only using the Basic Classification in order to monitor Dutch collections.
Participants are kept informed through the GOO-website (only in Dutch).
On request of UKB and Pica the coordination is executed by the Koninklijke Bibliotheek.
