Cultural heritage and collection building
In building up its collections, the KB focuses its attention on Dutch history, language and culture in a broad international context. In preserving the cultural heritage, the emphasis is placed on the old, culturally valuable holdings such as manuscripts and old editions. The Deposit Library of all Dutch printed and electronic publications, however, is also part of the cultural heritage. The KB maintains an active policy for the preservation of its collections and coordinates its collection building with that of other academic libraries.
