Under the supervision of graphic designer Irma Boom, a facsimile edition was made of the jubilee gift offered to the KB in 1998 by Mr Fentener of Vlissingen on behalf of SHV Holdings NV. The gift was a medieval book of hours with illuminations by the Master of Zweder van Culemborg. Most of the copies of the facsimile were intended for SHV business relations; a small number of them were purchased by the KB on behalf of other academic libraries inside and outside the Netherlands that have important collections of illuminated manuscripts from the northern Netherlands.
The KB has assisted with a project of the Royal Archaeological Society of Amsterdam to publicize Andries Schoemaker's collection of 18th-century topographical descriptions and illustrations. Schoemaker's so-called 'atlas' had been scattered over a number of depositories and is now reassembled in a single location. The CD-ROM with colour illustrations was issued in 2000 by publisher MMF of Lisse and can be viewed by visitors in the KB.
