Travel to the conference from abraod

The conference locations are easy to reach from abroad. Leiden and The Hague are both located in the heart of the Randstad region in the west of the Netherlands. The Dutch international airport, Schiphol, is only a 15-minute train journey away from Leiden and just over half an hour from The Hague.

The conference location in The Hague is next to Central Station in the centre of The Hague. For more information (see here for map). Please note that building work is going on at The Hague Central Station and platforms are sometimes closed off. The exit on platform 12, however, should be open. If you have any trouble finding your way out of the station, ask at the information point in the main station hall.

Location Tuesday evening - Theatre Diligentia

The Official opening on Tuesday evening will take place at Theatre Diligentia, Lange Voorhout 5, The Hague.

On foot, about 10-15 minutes. from Central Station, along the Koningskade (follow footpath through the park), turn left at traffic lights into Tournooiveld, turn second right into Voorhout, turn left into Lange Voorhout.
By bus:  From the bus platform on the upper level of Central Station ("Strippenkaart" required, see information public transport below), bus 22 (direction: Scheveningen Noorderstrand), or bus 24 (direction: Kijkduin). Both: stop "Kneuterdijk". Follow the pavement into Lange Voorhout, Theatre Diligentia is on your right.

Location Wednesday evening - Vredespaleis (Peace Palace)

Refectorium, Vredespaleis, Carnegieplein 2, The Hague.
On foot (about 3.5 km): Same directions as for Theatre Diligentia (see above), but continue along the Lange Voorhout straight on into Heulstraat, turn right into Noordeinde, continue straight on into the Zeestraat, cross the Laan van Meerdervoort and stay on the left-hand side of the road. The Peace Palace is on the "Carnegieplein" around the corner.
By bus: upper level Central Station, bus 24 (direction Kijkduin), stop "Vredespaleis".
By tram: street level Central Station, tram 10 (direction Statenkwartier), stop: "Vredespaleis".

Location Thursday - University of Leiden

Lipsius Building (WSD-1175), Cleveringaplaats 1.
Trains from The Hague Central Station to Leiden Central Station: 08.29 from platform 12 08.40 from platform 11. Make sure you have a valid ticket.

On foot from Leiden station (15 minutes): Stationsweg, Steenstraat, across the bridge, turn right, stay on the right-hand side of the water (Rapenburg), tutn right into the Doelensteeg and at the end you will find the Lipsius Building. See map.
Bus 28: leaves Leiden station at 08.46 and 09.16 (direction Zoeterwoude-Rijndijk). Stop: "Paterstraat".

The Thursday evening programme takes places in the Lakenhal, Oude Singel 28-32, Leiden. The Lakenhal is only a 10-minute (guided) walk away from the Lipsius building.
