The collections of the Deposit Library for Dutch publications and the Special collections department are available for consultation only.
The scholarly collection of the Koninklijke Bibliotheek is basically for loan with the exception of: manuscripts, books published before 1850, rare books, reference works in the reading rooms, very heavy or big books, newspapers, atlasses, maps, editions with loose pictures or other supplements, magazines and works from special collections, for example children's books.
