The KB has devoted a great deal of effort in the last few years to digitising important collections. The completed digitisation projects are shown below. These are followed by an overview of projects, which will be realised in the coming months and years.
Freely accessible:
The KB is digitising a substantial portion of all national, regional, local and colonial newspapers that appeared between 1618 and 1995. The first segment of this, one million pages, became freely accessible to the public from May 2010 at kranten.kb.nl.
Through its website The Memory of the Netherlands the KB has made 75 important Dutch heritage collections digitally accessible.12 of these are held by the KB, 63 by other institutions.
The website Medieval Illuminated Manuscripts contains thousands of magnificent illustrations from 400 medieval illustrated manuscripts held by the KB and the Meermanno Museum.
Access to over two million pages from 10.000 books published in the Netherlands and Flanders from 1781-1800.
This website contains all the reports, papers and questions of the House of Representatives and the Senate from the period 1814 to 1995.
Digitised flip books and web exhibitions
The KB has created digital exhibitions of a number of unique pieces from the collection. Among these are medieval manuscripts, alba amicorum, atlases and important printed works.
In addition to printed books and periodicals you will also find in the Digital Library – if you are in possession of a KB library pass – thousands of digital periodicals and online resources.

- Research Guide Dutch History - Selection, digitisation, indexation and online availability of a number of essential handbooks and reference works.
