Selected titles and selection procedure

Inventory of titles

There is not a complete and coherent overview of newspapers in the Netherlands. The catalogues and bibliographies available are incomplete. Within the project a complete as possible list of candidate titles will be compiled to facilitate the selection of titles.

For the listing of all published titles, information will be collected regarding locations of originals, and available microfilms and digital images. For the list of candidates that emerge from this, as much information as possible will be recorded in a database. The following sources will be used:

• Landelijke Krantenarchief Databank
• R. Vos, Inventarisatie en selectievoorstel couranten 17e eeuw (20 April 2006);
• R. Vos, Inventarisatie en selectievoorstel couranten 18e eeuw (8 May 2006);
• G.J. van Velzen, Herlevend regionaal verleden. Conservering van Nederlandse regionale dagbladen: inventarisatie, selectie en prioritering (2005);
• European Register of Microfilm Masters (EROMM);
• information from the 'Nationale inventarisatie Krantendigitalisering'.
