On 15 March, a new version of the KB-catalogue became available. Numerous improvements regarding
title presentations have been applied in the new version, as well as better search facilities and new content.
Added to the new catalogue are descriptions of approx. 103.000 letters in the KB, derived from the
union catalogue "Catalogus Epistularum Neerlandicarum". Furthermore, it now contains digital versions of governmental documents,
supplied by SDU publishers from their OPmaat system and deposited with the KB for the Deposit of Dutch Electronic Publications.
And for the very first time, descriptions of the oldest printed books in the KB, the incunabula,
can be found together with descriptions of other special collections.
A new facility is the offering of suggestions for further actions if a search results in too many hits.
The catalogue will now show various fields from the descriptions in which the search terms occur.
Finally, if a publication is part of a series, the description of that series can now be requested immediately as well.
With this second version of the catalogue, some documentation about the technology behind the KB-catalogue has become available as well.
