Delpher celebrates its 10th anniversary on 20 November. Delpher is an online database of digitized books, newspapers, magazines and radio messages from the KB (National Library of the Netherlands) and other libraries, scientific organisations and heritage institutions.

Sophie Ham new curator of Digital Collections
Sophie Ham is the new curator of Digital Collections at the KB (National Library of the Netherlands) as of 1 October. She will focus on born digital publications, such as websites, blogs and social media.

Millions more for collaboration between libraries and schools
Libraries will receive 74 million euros to collaborate with even more schools and daycare centres. This was announced on 30 October by the outgoing Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Mariëlle Paul and outgoing State Secretary for Media and Culture Gunay Uslu.

Online Library launches LEES (Read)-app for young people
On 13 September, the Online Library, that is managed by the KB, launched the 'LEES' app to stimulate reading among young people. There are 120 free titles to read and to listen to in the app.

Libraries organise record number of activities
In 2022, libraries organised more activities than ever before. The number of visits to libraries also rose. These are among the findings of an annual study conducted by the KB into the state of Dutch public libraries in 2022.
