Trigger events

Within the archiving agreements between KB and publishers it is agreed that KB is allowed to provide on-site access to all archived publications from the publishers. In specific circumstances access can be broadened to a wider audience. These conditions are met when titles are no longer available from the publisher or any other source. These specific conditions are called trigger events and occur:

  • when a publisher stops operations, or
  • when a publisher ceases to publish a title, or
  • when a publisher no longer offers back issues, or
  • upon catastrophic and sustained failure of a publisher's delivery platform.

The KB is a member of the Keepers Registry, which documents the holdings of various national library digital repositories.
