About the Koopman collection

The collection was donated by Louis Koopman (1887-1968), in commemoration of his fiancée Anny Antoine (1897-1933) who died in an accident. Thanks to a legacy, the Anny Antoine/Louis Koopman Foundation, the collection can still be expanded with new acquisitions on a daily basis.

Several monographs about the collection have been published, such as Voices and visions (2009) and Artists & others (2016). Exhibitions were installed in The Hague (2005), Auxerre (2009), Brussels (2011-2012) and New York (2016). In 2013 a Koopman Bookbinding Award was organized.
