Information for new KB members
Log in to the KB: at home or in our building
After your registration has been processed, you will receive an e-mail from us with your membership number. You can use this number to log in online.
When you visit the KB for the first time please collect your library pass at the KB-desk. The pass will have a new number on it: your pass number. As soon as you have received this new pass, you can log in online with your pass number and your password.
Using your membership
Search the catalogue
Are you looking for a book, magazine or newspaper? In our catalogue you will find information about all the works that can be found in the KB.
Using digital sources
We have an overview of all our online sources. For each source you will find a short description of the content. Then you can click through to the source itself. To do so, you sometimes have to log in.
Order scans
You can request scans of publications from us. Or you can make scans yourself in the reading room in our building.

Visit the KB
Coming to the KB
You can visit the KB in The Hague, right next to the central station. Your KB pass will give you access to our reading rooms. You will receive your pass on your first visit. In our reading rooms you can read books, study and use the computers.

Tips
Install Lean Library
With Lean Library, you receive a notification in your browser when a publication is available at the KB.
Set up the KB as your library in Google Scholar
By adjusting a few settings in Google Scholar, you can immediately see in the search results whether you have access to texts through your KB account.
