In order to make beautiful paint colours, in the past, toxic materials were sometimes used. For example, arsenic was used to make the colour green. This paint was also used in some of the books in the KB’s collection.
The KB has appointed Wilma van Wezenbeek as its new Director General. Van Wezenbeek succeeds Lily Knibbeler, who will step down per July 1. Van Wezenbeek will start her new position as of 1 September.
