Inhoudsblokken

This year marks the 25th anniversary of DBNL, the Digital Library for Dutch Literature. DBNL is a digital collection of Dutch-language texts that you can access online. It is a collaboration between the Taalunie (Union for the Dutch Language), the Vlaamse Erfgoedbibliotheken (Flanders Heritage Libraries) and the KB.

Thousands of Dutch books and magazines

DBNL is a digital collection of texts from Dutch literature, linguistics and cultural history, where you will find thousands of books and magazines from the past to the present. The collection encompasses all of the Dutch language regions: the Netherlands, Flanders, Suriname and the Caribbean. Hundreds of new titles are added every year.

The service will be modernised

Mirjam Raaphorst, acting coordinator of DBNL explains: "Over the past 25 years, DBNL has become an indispensable resource for researchers, both professionally and for more in-depth knowledge and enjoyment. The collection of high-quality files is freely accessible throughout the world and used millions of times a year. The service will be modernised over the coming years so that we can continue to provide optimal access to the DBNL."

Celebration

On 8 November, we celebrate DBNL's 25th anniversary in the KB. Several speakers will talk about using DBNL for research, inspiration and fun. Afterwards, there will be a mixer event. More information about this free afternoon can be found on the event page.
